AI in Arizona

Arizona's Department of Administration adopted statewide Generative AI Policy P2000 and Procedure 2000PR in March 2024 (revised October 2024), requiring training, disclosure, human review and State CIO/CISO approval for Gen AI deployments by state agencies. In May 2025 Governor Katie Hobbs named a 19-member AI Steering Committee to develop a statewide AI policy framework, with initial recommendations expected in spring 2026. State employees have access to free InnovateUS responsible-AI courses offered in partnership with the State of Arizona.
