AI in South Carolina

The South Carolina Department of Administration published the State Government AI Strategy on June 19, 2024, built on three pillars: Protect, Promote and Pursue. In 2025 the department established an AI Center of Excellence that keeps a central repository of agency AI use cases and coordinates statewide AI efforts, and a state budget proviso requires agencies with AI funding to coordinate with it. In June 2026 South Carolina State University announced an AI education and workforce collaboration with NVIDIA.
