AI in Delaware

Delaware's Artificial Intelligence Commission was created by House Bill 333, signed by Governor John Carney on July 17, 2024, to advise the General Assembly and the state CIO, develop statewide AI guidelines and inventory generative AI use across all three branches of government. In 2025 the Commission's subcommittees worked on AI training for state employees and the public, a possible state-controlled AI model, and an agentic AI regulatory sandbox for corporate governance following House Joint Resolution 7. The Delaware Department of Education licensed 'Generative AI in Delaware Education' guidance for districts and charter schools (June 2024, refreshed March 2026).
